LIS Conference

Empowering Women in Sports

The Ladies in Sports (LIS) Conference is a leading platform dedicated to empowering women in sports across all industries. Launched in June 2016, the conference emerged from a vision of equal access and opportunity for female athletes, ignited by the need for crowdfunding by some athletes to participate in the 2016 Olympics.

Industry Connection Hub

Since its inception, the LIS Conference has grown significantly, attracting an audience of over 200 attendees. The event brings together a distinguished community of delegates and speakers, including government officials, sports executives, renowned athletes, and industry experts.

Know Her Name Campaign

With only 0.4% of the total amount of commercial investment in sports going in to women sport, Ladies in Sports International  (LIS) is using this campaign to direct focus towards women, as they continually shatter glass ceilings.

#KnowHerName is a campaign adopted by LIS to increase the popularity of women in sport and female athletes in Nigeria.

Skills Lab

The LIS Skills Program is a yearly initiative by the Ladies in Sports International (LISI) designed to empower women in the sports industry by equipping them with the necessary skills for career advancement.

The program recognizes the significant gender gap in sports media representation. Studies by UNESCO and USC highlight the imbalance, with only 4% of sports media coverage dedicated to women’s sports and a male dominance in sports broadcasting and print media.

The LIS Skills Program is LISI’s commitment to bridging the gender gap in sports media and amplifying the voices of women in sports journalism.
